TAKE DOWN: State Police officers arrest Sam Smith Wednesday morning outside of his apartment on Route 9 in Randolph. Police shut down the state road connecting Augusta and Randolph after Smith barricaded himself following a confrontation with Kennebec County Sheriff’s deputies, according to police. Smith surrendered peacefully just before 9 a.m. Kennebec County Sheriff Randall Liberty said Smith is facing multiple charges.
